Diving Nha Trang: Vietnam's Accessible Coastal Reefs
Vietnam's most established dive destination — easy boat trips, gentle conditions and the friendliest entry point into Vietnamese diving.
Nha Trang Bay's nine offshore islands form the country's most accessible diving area. The reefs here are not the Coral Triangle — but they are friendly, easy to dive and increasingly well-protected.
Hon Mun Marine Protected Area
Vietnam's first MPA, established in 2001. Sites like Madonna Rock, Moray Beach and Coral Garden offer 10–18 m dives with healthy soft coral, schooling fusiliers and macro treasures including ghost pipefish and harlequin shrimp.
Best for training
Nha Trang is one of the most affordable places in Asia to complete an Open Water or Advanced course. Multiple PADI 5-star centres operate with multilingual instructors.
Beyond diving
Nha Trang is a coastal city with strong food, beach culture and easy onward connections to Da Lat highlands. A relaxed multi-day diving and exploration combination is easy to build.

Honest answer: pleasant, easy, accessible — not on the level of Komodo or Tubbataha, but a great place to start or to relax between bigger trips.
